Fed: Costello says Aust economic growth to lead world in 2002

Federal Treasurer PETER COSTELLO says Australia's economy growth will lead the world
next year, although it will be a little slower than it was in the late 1990s.

Mr COSTELLO's told Melbourne radio station 3AW that Australia is performing strongly
compared to the United States and Europe, which are now weakening considerably.
