Fed: Aussie al-Qaeda fighter transferred to second US warship

CANBERRA, Jan 2 AAP - Australian al-Qaeda fighter David Hicks was today transferredto another United States navy warship along with seven other foreign nationals capturedin Afghanistan.

Pentagon spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Rivers Johnson said Hicks, from Adelaide, hadbeen moved from the USS Peleliu to amphibious naval assault ship USS Bataan.

The US is holding 210 Taliban or al-Qaeda detainees and Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeldsaid some would be transferred to the US naval base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
